Services

We C.A.N., Inc. is a non profit corporation that provides Employment and Independent Living Skills services to the disadvantaged, displaced, disabled and underserved populations in the Greater Sacramento Area.

 

We Can, Inc. provides Employment and Independent Living Skill Services to the Sacramento Community. Today, our Career Consultants and Independent Living Specialists work directly with community members who wish to become employed and those who desire to learn skills that will help them to become contributing members of their communities

  • EMPLOYMENT SERVICEs

    We C.A.N., Inc., Career Action Network services:

    Employment Preparation

    • We assist our client with preparing to apply for jobs by creating and updating resumes, assisting them with filling out job applications properly, interviewing techniques, and providing career assessments.

    Job Placement                                

    • Our Consultants network with various community employers and large companies to place our clients. To meet the unique talents of each client, employment opportunities have been created in traditional and non-traditional fields. Typically, our community employers allow for on-the-job or off and on site job coaching by our consultants.  This partnering supports both client and employer to maximize their productivity. Today, we have clients successfully employed throughout the Northern California region which includes Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, Yuba and Solano counties. 

    Employment Retention

    • We offer training on the following topics: Sexual Harassment, Interpersonal Social Skills, Self-Esteem & Communications, Life Skills, Self-Management, Behavioral-Management, Fears & Anxieties, Family Issues within the Workplace and Conflict Resolution. Having worked with many community employers, we are knowledgeable on many of their various policies and procedures.

  • Independent Living Skills

    • Our program curriculum focuses on the following areas: Daily Living Skills,   Community Living Skills and Self Advocacy. We provide assistance and support to individuals desiring to live an independent life through their participation in life skills activities i.e.:  locating and maintaining housing, setting and living within a monthly budget, setting physical/mental health appointments, complying with diversion plans; while teaching self advocacy when dealing with legal matters and individual rights, and providing tools to ensure appropriate behavior in various social settings.

     

    •  It is our goal at We C.A.N., Inc. that our consumers learn the importance of accomplishing these basic life skills; to develop a sense of worth and self-respect that will allow them to discover a sense of confidence that they will be able to emulate in every aspect of their lives. We are committed to providing a proactive and hands on approach in empowering our consumers to transition to an independent lifestyle. It is our expectation at We C.A.N., Inc. that by participating in our program, our consumers will achieve new levels of success in every area of their lives.

    Most of the skills our consumers learn will be taught in real life situations within the community.
